Questions? We've got answers.
The questions truck owners ask us most — paint codes, lead times, fitment, warranty and more. Can't find yours? Talk to a real person in Valley Center.
Paint & color
Where do I find my paint code?
It's on the sticker inside the driver's door jamb (on some trucks it's under the hood or in the glove box). Snap a photo of the sticker and send it to us before you order and we'll help confirm it. You can also use our paint code locator.
My paint code has a lot of variants. Will it match my truck?
Many factory codes have multiple variants (some have 25+), and paint changes with age and sun exposure. We paint to your factory code using the Sherwin-Williams Automotive Ultra BC8 paint line, the same premium system high-end body shops use.
If you're not sure which variant you have, send us daylight photos of your truck and your door-jamb sticker before you order.
I think I picked the wrong paint code. What do I do?
Contact us right away with your order number and a photo of your door-jamb sticker. The sooner we hear from you, the better. Once a part is painted, the color can't be changed.
What paint do you use?
Premium automotive materials only: the Sherwin-Williams Automotive Ultra BC8 paint line and CC200 Dynamic Clearcoat, sprayed in our GFS Ultra XS paint booth. That's Sherwin-Williams' automotive refinish side, not house paint. No cheap materials, no rattle cans.
Can you do two-tone, gloss black, or something that isn't listed?
Often, yes. Before you order, send us your truck (year, make, model, trim), the part, and a photo of the look you want. We'll tell you what's possible and what it costs.
Lead times & orders
How long will my order take?
Custom-painted parts are built to order. Most take an estimated 10–16 weeks, and some ship sooner. The estimate for each product is listed on its product page before you buy.
Why does custom work take that long?
Every order goes through several steps:
- Receiving parts from the manufacturer
- Inspection and disassembly
- Painting and curing (about 3–4 weeks)
- Reassembly and sealing (about 3–4 days)
- Final quality control and inspection
Some steps depend on outside vendors, so delays can happen. We put quality, precision and durability ahead of speed. If you need parts fast, custom-painted isn't the best fit.
How do I check on my order?
Reply to any of our order emails or email support@mwcustoms.net with your order number and we'll give you a real update. You'll get tracking by email as soon as your order ships.
I paid for 2–5 day shipping. Why hasn't it arrived?
Shipping speed starts when your order ships, not when you place it. Custom parts are built and painted first, then shipped with the speed you chose at checkout.
Can I change my order after I place it?
Contact us as soon as possible with your order number. Changes may be possible before your part goes into paint. Once it's painted, the color and style can't be changed.
Only part of my order arrived. Where's the rest?
Orders with more than one item can ship separately as each part is finished, so check your shipping emails for each tracking number. If something still seems missing, email us your order number and photos of what you received.
Fitment & options
How do I make sure it fits my truck?
Use the Year / Make / Model search, then confirm your trim, factory lighting (halogen vs. LED) and features like cameras, blind spot or puddle lights in the product options. Not sure? Email us your VIN before you order.
My truck has a camera, blind spot or LED lights. Does that matter?
Yes. These change which parts fit. Pick the matching option on the product page. If your setup isn't listed, contact us before ordering.
What if I ordered the wrong part or options?
It's the customer's responsibility to make sure the year, make, model, options and paint code are correct when ordering. If you don't know your paint code, include your VIN. Because every part is built for your truck, incorrect orders are non-refundable and can't be re-made without a new purchase. When in doubt, ask us first.
Can you install the parts for me?
If you can bring your truck to Valley Center, Kansas, we do full in-house builds. Request a build quote.
Shipping
What carriers do you use?
We ship with UPS and USPS. Shipping costs are calculated at checkout once you enter your address.
Tracking says delivered, but I don't have it. What now?
Contact the carrier to open a claim, then send us the claim number so we can help. MWCustoms isn't responsible for lost or stolen packages.
Warranty
What warranty do your products have?
MWCustoms offers a limited warranty on products and services performed or installed by MWCustoms. It covers moisture leaks, paint defects, and failure of components installed by MWCustoms.
It doesn't cover LED failures on customer-supplied products, normal wear and tear, damage from improper installation, accidents or abuse, third-party or DIY modifications, components not installed or serviced by MWCustoms, or labor to remove and reinstall parts. Read the full warranty policy.
How do I file a warranty claim?
Submit a warranty claim or email support@mwcustoms.net with your order number and clear photos of the issue. You'll need to sign the claim agreement and ship the part to us within 7 days of signing; we don't provide return labels. Every claim is inspected, and if it's approved, we pay to ship the part back to you.
What if the part is damaged shipping it back to you?
Shipping damage on the way to or from us is the customer's responsibility, so pack it carefully with bubble wrap or other protection and use a trackable service with insurance.
Returns & cancellations
Can I return my order?
- Custom-painted, modified or made-to-order items: Not returnable, because they're built for your truck.
- Standard, non-custom products: Return requests within 14 days of delivery if unused, uninstalled and in original packaging. Approved returns are usually issued as store credit.
- Open box, clearance and final-sale items: Not returnable.
Who pays return shipping?
For eligible standard products, return shipping is the customer's responsibility unless the item arrived damaged, defective or incorrect. Don't ship anything back until we've approved the return. Read the return policy.
Can I cancel my order?
Contact us right away with your order number. Within 24 hours of purchase, we may refund to your original payment method as long as parts haven't been ordered or work hasn't started. After 24 hours, custom orders aren't refundable to your card; if we approve a cancellation, it's issued as store credit, minus any non-recoverable costs. Read the cancellation policy.
